About Us
This pioneering project intends to bring together scientists from multiple disciplines to measure on-farm conversion rates and develop a more efficient, data-driven model through reconfigured farming practices. These efforts will include:
Dr. Ellen Nesbet from University of Nottingham will focus on microbial activity to better understand feed conversion efficiency in terms of both meat production and methane emissions.
Dr.Rebecca Fisher from Royal Holloway University will focus on using drones, sensors, and methane analysers to monitor and identify sources of methane emissions on the farm.
Prof. Jungong Han from University of Sheffield will focus on leveraging sensor networks and computer vision to precisely measure cattle weight, behaviour, growth patterns, and farming practices.
Prof. Xiao Ma and Dr. Fatima Gillani from Nottingham Trent University will focus on analysing the evolving dynamics of farming practices using collected data, aiming to design a reconfigured smart farming model that optimises resource conversion and benefits the entire agricultural value chain.
- Prof.Louise Manning from Univesity of Lincoln will focus on the wider socioeconomical issues and different grazing patterns of the cattle and assess the impact on productivity and efficiency of the farm
